The Butterfly

This is not a beginner class. You must have basic embroidery machine knowledge and applique knowledge!

This is a 3-day technique based class learning how to do multi-hooping and placement for a larger project. 

You will not retain this design! This design is no longer available and has been discontinued. Due to copyright law, we cannot give you this design.

This is a bring your own machine class! We will be using select machines with image capability and/or projection. Machines that are be able to be used in this class include: 

-Baby Lock Radiance
-Baby Lock Solaris
-Baby Lock Altair w/QR Code Hoop
-Baby Lock Meridian w/QR Code Hoop
-Baby Lock Destiny

We have a limited number of machines available to use in-store. Please call to reserve a machine. First Come, First Reserve.

We are providing the Stabilstick Tear Away stabilizer and the Applique Fuse & Fix that you will need for this class. You will need to provide the fabric and coordinating/complimentary thread.


Fabric Yardage -
-Body of Quilt & Border Background Fabric - 2 1/2 yards
-Butterfly Body & Small Border Diamonds - 1 yard
-Alternate Large Border Diamonds & Cornerstones - 1/4 yard each of 2 different fabrics


We will offer a prep day the week before the class! This is required! Pick up your pre-printed
Fuse & Fix stabilizer to fuse to your fabric. We can help you fuse it with our heat press in-store or you can fuse it yourself with an iron at home. Your butterfly fabric needs to be fused, cut, and pre-sorted before class!

Class instruction starts promptly at 10:00am. Please arrive no later than 9:30am to set up your machine and supplies.

We will have a demonstration on the 3rd day on how to cut and piece the borders. Once your Butterfly is complete, Ginny is offering custom quilting for a beautiful finish for just $150+tax & thread. This is for the Butterfly as stitched in class - nothing larger.

Class registration closes 1 week prior to the class! This is a highly requested class and there is a waitlist! If you sign up and need to cancel, that space may be offered to the next person in line. Cancellations less than 1 week prior to the class will not be eligible for a refund.
